Frida continued and a few more Maggie Vases.

This is the third and final Maggie Vase. I tried to motivate myself for one more for choice's sake, but I just wasn't up to trying to place flowers on a vase. So we think we will bring this one. The other triangle Vase, I am very fond of. ANd the latest photos of Frida. Now I have decided her lips should be more red orange and not pink. I think the brighter lip color will be bold enough to stand up to the rest of this piece. And a blue mirror that I just completed yesterday. Now it only needs to be grouted. Perhaps to stain the frame or paint it. But I think I will stain it. Although I like it the color it is. I guess this process needs to be thought about some.

Frida in the Forrest

I have finally begun (just barely begun), working on Frida in the Forest. I have placed the plywood in the elegant frame and placed an outline of her face in the center. I want to surround her in the pine forests of Northern Minnesota, placing flowers and birds in her hair. Right now she looks more like a Gaugin than Frida!

A new (labor intensive) vase.

I was slightly obsessed with finishing this one yesterday. I had forgotten how time consuming it is to cut tiny triangles and place them on a curved surface. Next week or perhaps sooner I will grout this.

This table is finished except for the grouting.

I have finished the dragon flies surrounded by the two paisleys. I think I may need to cover the old china with masking tape before I grout to insure that the lovely gold does not rub off with the sanded grout. Yikes! Another labor intensive activity to add to this table. Small pieces of tape stuck to each small piece of china. Sigh or should I say "ugh".

The wings.

I am thinking of placing a clear textured glass for these wings. However, then the scarred table would show through. I could paint a small area of the table to show through. I need to think on this.

I've returned to this table.

I have returned to working on this table. I like what I have been able to do on this, even though my work towards this is so sporadic. I've added the green which I think livens up the whole thing.
