Tuesday and I am off until Thur at 4

I have another job. This time it is at a grocery store being a checkout person - scanning, weighing etc. There are tons of codes for all of the fresh produce that I will need to learn. This job is much harder than it seems. Much!

I managed to put a medium blue outside edge to my hand. I think though that I will finish it with the lovely greenish tone of the piece of glass on the lower left edge.

It is Monday and yesterday I was able to mosaic

This is what I worked on: I finished one plate with three leaves and I began another plate with my hand on it. It has been so much fun working on these small plates! Flat, smooth and I love their shine especially as it comes through the stained glass! It gives the stained glass an added depth. Or it will after the Weldbond dries clear.

I woke up to all of the weather outside, thunder, lightening even hail!

I finially put my leaf coasters on my Etsy site last night. I had sort of forgotten about them. They are now all set with a two part resin coating on the top and the backs painted a lovely chartruese green. Love this color! ALso here are a few photos of the leaf vase all cleaned up and ready to sell.

Sunday with fog...

I only sold one vase with Hearts yesterday. It was a very long day. My dog Gracie came with and she was very popular.

Here is a photo of the only new item for this show - the leaf vase which tapered from wide to narrow. I will take a better photo later for my Etsy shop.

Yesterday was disappointing. I doubt that I will return.

Friday before the Finland show

Today dawned dark with just a gentle rain. I woke up in the night to the sound of Eli fighting with his wild cat father, Moses. So my sleeping pattern was disrupted.

This is the only "new" item for tomorrow's show. It is almost opposite of the shape of the Vase that sold at last week's show. The bottom starts out wide and becomes narrower, where as the other Vase began narrow and became wider at the top. Today I will need to grout this, but later in the day as I just finished this in the late afternoon. As you can see, I placed this in the bright afternoon window sill so that the heat from the sun could help to dry the Weldbond.

Monday and the show is over.

This is what I sold, as well as 4 tea lights.

The large vase with Leaves - everyone loves this vase and kept picking it up and looking at it and when I told them it cost $125, always they'd put it back. Except this one woman who was from TH. She went back to her car and got her checkbook and now this lovely vase is her's! The other item that I sold is a Frieda Kahlo Vase with 12 hearts to Kathy Wurzer, a Minnesota Public Radio personality. I had spoken to her 6 or 7 years ago and SHE REMEMBERED MY NAME. Great memory! So even though this show started out a fizzled it ended up great. Well, good, anyways.

I was also able to speak to many many towns people, making this a very nice way to spend the day.

Saturday

I am trying to maintain some calm today just a few short hours until I leave for a local show in Two Harbors. (Just to remind those of you who may have forgotten, those who live in TH are very reluctant to part with any of their money unless it is for crocheted towels for thier stoves.)

As the sun is about to come up, here are the last few things I was able to grout AND a photo of my friend Rose and I at the Grand Marais Artist Colony Show a month ago. (I am looking dorky on the right.) We had such a WONDERFUL time!

It is Wednesday and I keep trying to get stuff done for my weekend show.

I have not had a lot of luck trying to complete things. I get so tired. It is almost as if that is all I can do is sleep. Oh well.

This is what I was able to get done yesterday. I completed two tea lights, (the one with the hearts to the right is not quite done yet) and I began three more. No grouting for me, though. I was too drowsy. I need to be in the right mood to grout or is just doesn't work.

It rained all night or at least from midnight on...

Here is my progress on my mosaics. You can see that I have grouted the mirror with it's matching shelf. This looks good, I think. I used almost all of a bunch of glass tiles that I had ordered with my Grand Marais money. The other two things that I was able to grout are the two tea light holders. I will need to grout tonight or tomorrow, too, as I have a show this weekend. I wanted to have 12 tea lights but I am not sure if I will. Last night when I began to work on them, I just became too tired.

You can also see that I decided to put clear glass tiles on the leaf plate. When the glue is dry, you should be able to see through to the silver aluminum plate underneath. Now the glass looks white as the Weldbond is still wet.
