Today it is SATURDAY! Unfortunately it is dark, rainy and a bit gloomy.

Yesterday I decided to work at Woodland, my favorite Middle School, for a great teacher, Mr. Norman. There was an EXCELLENT student teacher there, so really I was only a license in the room. She was really great.

So I was not able to mosaic or do really anything at home. I did go to a few garage sales though. I am having buyer's remorse as there was a wooden dresser for FREE and as I could not fit it in my car, I left this! It would have provided a perfect surface for me to mosaic on. Today I may go and see if this is still there.

I have decided to retake some photos for my Etsy shop. During the winter when the light is so limited, my shots are just too dark. Here are a few photos retaken of two vases. They look so much better now!

More SNOW at the END of April, but tomorrow I am off and it is supposed to be SUNNY! Yes!

We have had SNOW the last two days. Enough to cover the ground and have to use windshield wipers. Ugh. However, at least we have not had any tornados! Much much worse than snow.

Tonight I am going to my local craft's club meeting. Hopefully we will have a summer show at the wonderful community of Larsmont, between Two Harbors and Duluth.

Here is the last of my Lake Theme Tea light holders - all grouted and ready for someone to purchase.

It was gloriously beautiful yesterday! And today I am back to subbing. Ugh.

Yesterday's temperatures were supposed to be in the 60s although it felt much hotter to me. I was shoveling my HUGE pile of mulch into my lilac beds. (I thought that I should maybe be wearing my shorts!) Shoveling mulch into the lilac beds is hard, dirty, dusty work. I could only do this for an hour. I also brought some of our outdoor furniture out of the garage and onto our lawn.

This is what I worked on for my mosaics: I completed the green, yellow, blue and purple wild zebra vase and continued my work on a new design - my hand. This first one was a golden hand surrounded by a dark blue. I really like this design so I will continue in other colors. I decorated my hand with a milliflori bracelett and a ring.

It is a bright and sun-shining Monday!

It is supposed to be SIXTY DEGRESS TODAY!!! Yes, I think spring HAS arrived. At least I hope it has...

This is what I am working on: a zebra striped vase or tea light holder. Not exactly zebra colors, but what do you expect from me?? The other photo is of a Lake Superior inspired tea light/vase. On two sides there are rocks and the Lake, and on the other two sides there is an abtract of the ore docks in my hometown of Two Harbors.

Happy Easter and Passover!

This is what I am currently working on. As you may be able to see, I am continuing my Lake Theme in the dark textured rectangles in the center of the 3 tea lights as well as in my rock island of the larger rectangular piece. I am struggling a bit with this rectangular piece. I kept looking through my glass thinking that I'll find just the right color, but so far I have not had any luck. Next week it is back to substitute teaching for me so I am not sure when I will be able to return to finish this.

Grouted Lake Themed Tea Lights are completed. Almost.

Here are 5 of my 6 Lake Themed tea lights. I placed lit candles in these on Monday - they looked so beautiful! Also here are a few photos of my other projects.

Today is turning out to be full of clear skies and sunshine here in Northern Minnesota.

No substitute teaching jobs for me today, either. Sigh. However, today I will be so busy filling out job applications - two even for teaching positions. (It is hard to be optimistic, though, as I am sure many, many people are applying for both.) I am also applying for a county job as a crime victim advocate. A job that I certainly could do, but I am sure my application will not be considered if there is anyone who has social service background.

We have had so many deer in our yard lately. Last night there were perhaps, 20 or more. Wandering through looking for something to eat. (A bit like my job search!!!)

It is another MOnday - full of possibilities and potential!

At least this is the way that I try to look at Mondays! Today is a day of uncertainty for me as so far there are no substitute teaching jobs online. HOwever this does NOT mean I'll be idle. I have two interesting and exciting jobs to apply for. ANd I will probably go into Duluth to drop off the plate/platter that a woman purchased from me just after the Green Art SHow. SO I will be busy.

Here are photos of the finished/grouted tea lights seen here just a few posts ago as well as one of the Snowflake Plate that I will attempt to deliver today.

The completed and repaired Vase with Hearts

Here are the photos of the Heart Vase (Jim Dine inspired) complete with all of it's glass attached and grouted. I like how the Hearts are so large that they almost burst out of the borders!

A beautiful Tuesday in Northern Minnesota!

After I completed the grouting of six tealight holders, I took my good dog Gracie for a walk. I saw my first robin of the Spring! We had sunny skies for most of the day which was good as I thought of the Lake with sparkling waters for my tea light holders.

I needed to do some grouting "repair" on the larger vase with the heart motif. When I grouted this on Saturday a piece of glass has come loose. After attempting to clean this off, I glued it back on. Now after this had dried, I did my grouting "repair".

I have been accepted into the juried 21st annual Grand Marais Arts Festival!

I have been accepted into the juried Grand Marais show in early July which made me think of the Lake (as the show will be situated just next to it), so I came up with some Lake inspired tea light holders, in progress. (I purchased these holders from a moving sale situated right next to the Lake with gorgeous views.)

Today I am not able to substitute teach as there were no jobs on line. Sigh. So perhaps I'll be able to work on the Lake tea light Holders.

The other project that I was able to work on was a 4 inch vase or holder. When thinking of the Lake, it is impossible to not also think about the huge cliffs of rocks. So this Vase is part of my thought process as far as these giant rocks go.

Yesterday was a beautiful sunny Saturday here in Northern Minnesota.

In the morning I prepped Bulgogi, a Korea beef dish marinated in soy sauce, garlic and ginger. Yum! I love this dish. Later after starting a fire in our woodstove, (even though it was sunny outside the house was still cold), I worked a bit on my mosaics. I actually grouted three pieces. But of course I forgot to take photos of my grouting process. You can see my hearts around the cylindrical vase are almost complete.

A few projects that I am working on.

I was able to work a bit on Thursday. (NO substitute jobs as there was the high stakes MCA testing in the schools.) This is what I am currently working on: a vase/candle holder with hearts, a cylindrical Tea Light Holder, a larger cylindrical vase or holder with hearts and assorted square Holders.

My outdoor tasks included stacking the wood pile with the last of our winter wood and retreiving our blown away garbage can. Whew!
